One of the main reasons that gardeners build a greenhouse is to extend the growing season. Depending on the plants and how much of the winter you have determines your particular heating needs. For the most part anyone who grows year round in North America is going to need some sort of supplemental heat source, even if it is just and emergency anti-freeze system.
